The Advent have been involved in the electronic music scene for many years now. Mainman, Cisco Ferreira kicked his career off in style when, not long after leaving college he found himself working as a sound engineer for Jack Trax, engineering for the likes of Derrick May and Adonis. Cisco began his own recording career in 1988 with CJ Bolland, releasing four singles through R&S Records before meeting Colin McBean, a top UK Dj and future collaborator. The pair began recording together in 1990 and the official debut of the Advent came in 1994, after Ferreira signed to Internal Records and convinced McBean to join him in the recording of a series of crucially limited singles and the legendary debut album, Elements of Life released in late 1995.
Since then The Advent have released a series of oustanding EP’s that combine the best elements of techno and electro but always producing music with a dancefloor edge. The duo regularly toured as The Advent from 1995 to 1999, playing live and Djing in some of the finest clubs and festivals throughout the world including Tresor in Berlin, Belgium’s Fuse and the UK’s very own techno superclub, The Orbit. In 1999, McBean left The Advent permanently, citing his reluctance to continue touring, though he continued to record under his solo alias G Flame and Mr G.
Cisco now runs a number of labels including Kombination Research & Alpha Recordings. Kombination Research was launched in 1997 with the aim to release only Advent records as after departing from London records in 1997, Cisco wanted to re-build his love of music strictly for the underground masses.
Cisco still tours as The Advent causing mass limb gyration and sound detonation worldwide, whether it's at the hands of a pair of 1210's or during one of his legendary live performances.
