Paul Mac began playing records at the age of sixteen, originally starting out as a hip-hop Dj. As with so many other Djs at the time, the pull of the house and techno scene became too strong and he began to use his carefully honed mixing skills in another direction
His early experiments in the studio started in 1995 and after a years work, Paul released his first EP on the Not Guilty label which went on to receive support from the likes of Derrick May and Colin Favour. Encouraged by this, Paul then sent out a demo, which resulted in a series of releases on James Ruskinís label, Fracture and a long-standing set-up with Fragmented Records which to date has seen him release six singles and one album.
It was around this time that Paul set up his own Stimulus imprint, which led to collaborations with respected artists such as Ben Sims, James Ruskin, Oscar Mulero and Takaaki Itoh amongst others. It also kicked off Paulís international Dj bookings leading to him playing around the world at famous club nights such as La Real, Sensor, BuggedOut! and Cocoon. Since then, Paul has started his own C-Side label and has recorded for a host of other highly respected labels including Primary, Mosaic, Phont and Primevil amongst others.
The future sees a new album on one of the UK's main techno labels, Primate, more releases on Stimulus and C-Side plus various other gigs at the worldís top techno venues when his busy recording schedule will allow this.
